Innovative Learning at Seeds of Hope School

At Seeds of Hope, we’ve always embraced a different way of doing things. It’s a mentality that has helped us stand apart in our community and attract curiosity from families that would normally not be interested in an organization like ours.

Specifically in our school, we believe you can create an environment where students feel loved, supported, and encouraged, while still excelling academically. We also want to embrace creativity and innovation whenever possible to help our students grow.

As the end of the school year approaches, our elementary classes recently hosted a Science and Art Exhibition that was a perfect example of what makes Seeds of Hope different from other schools.

For months, our students and teachers have worked hard to creatively express what they’ve been learning. We asked students to choose a topic they loved and design a creative display to illustrate it.

Then they got to invite all their parents and friends in the community to come view their incredible work. The event blew everyone away!

“From the first moment I entered the exhibition and saw the achievements of my children, I felt so proud,” said Maria, a Seeds of Hope parent. “My children have reached a stage of maturity and mastery where they can translate their knowledge into tangible objects and express what they know.

“We are proud and so pleased,” Maria shared. “I’m so grateful that my children are at Seeds of Hope Schools.”

Most schools in Jericho adhere to very traditional methods of education, so people had never seen an event like this in our city. The exhibition even got the attention of the local Ministry of Education. The director visited and raved about what a creative, innovative, and well-organized event it was.

Our students were so proud of their work:

“I love that I could convert what I learned into something that people can see,” said Karam, a student, “especially my parents.”

While it might seem like a simple end-of-the-year project, we’ve seen firsthand how events like this empower and inspire our students to feel confident in what they’ve learned and how to express themselves. It helps them exercise their communication skills (in English and Arabic), get creative, and develop new methods of learning that they can take with them.

It’s just one of many ways our teachers are blazing new trails for education in our region! Thanks to their passion for our students and your ongoing support and generosity, we’re tapping into our students’ future potential like never before.
