As Christmas approaches, we hope you’ve spent time reflecting on the holiday and the message that it brings. It’s certainly a time to gather with family, give gifts to express our gratitude, and enjoy time spent with those we love.
But the heart of the season comes back to one thing: Hope.
Christmas marks God’s reminder that we are not alone. Even in the darkness and the silence, He is still at work, and his mission of redemption is in motion. He sent his Son—the hope of the world—to bring us back to him.
At the end of a year that felt dark and lonely for so many in our community, Seeds of Hope is committed to continuing to be a reminder that God is at work and we are not alone.
Over the last year, you’ve offered hope to so many in Jericho through your generosity and support of Seeds of Hope. One example is Maiar and her family. Earlier this year, we shared how your generosity funded eye surgery for a young woman whose family could not pay for the operation.
You offered her hope in her darkest hour. In a very real way, you helped us give Maiar the gift of sight.
Over the past year, her condition has progressed to the point that she needs another surgery. We’ve been on a journey with Maiar and her family and are committed to continuing to walk alongside them, offering any help we can.
While there are many obstacles to face in getting her to Jordan, finding the doctors she needs, and taking care of her family back in Jericho, we know that God can provide a way. Just like Jesus healed Bartimaeus on the road outside of Jericho, we believe in a hope that can quite literally give sight to the blind.
So in the midst of another dark situation, Maiar has hope—thanks to you.
And whether she realizes it or not, the hope she feels is the same hope that Christmas represents. The hope of redemption. The hope of healing. The hope of a miracle.
Thank you for making it possible for us to help people like Maiar. Thank you for walking with us through a difficult year. Thank you for living out the hope that Christmas brings by investing in families in Jericho.
Merry Christmas from Khader, Stevie,
and the entire Ghanim family!
