Gearing Up for a New Year

By August 9, 2024Education

As we prepare to open our doors for another school year in just a few weeks, our teams are hard at work putting the finishing touches on our latest school expansion. Thanks to your generosity and support, we’re about to welcome our first group of seventh graders at Seeds of Hope!

As we’ve shared, we’ve been slowly working to purchase land adjacent to our original school building to ensure we have the space and infrastructure to continue growing our school. With a long history of neighbors uninterested in selling property to us, we thought it was wise to take advantage of the opportunity to expand our footprint.

Now, as we’ve moved into a new phase of additions, we’ve also encountered unexpected costs. Our original plan was to build out only the first floor of our new modular school rooms—enough to house our seventh grade class.

However, the ongoing war in Gaza has disrupted Jericho’s typical shipping routes along the Red Sea. As a result, delivery times and materials costs have increased significantly. To avoid being impacted any further by these factors, we chose to move forward with our second-floor classrooms ahead of schedule.

We’re thrilled with the progress we’ve made and so excited to see our children use this space in just a couple of weeks!

Check out a video update on our school expansion and future plans from our CEO, Khader Ghanim:

This fall, Seeds of Hope will have 372 children in our school programs from daycare through seventh grade. That number blows us away, but we don’t want it to stop there! We want to keep expanding our school and ensuring students can remain in the positive, supportive environment we strive to create.

As we look to the future and consider what would best position Seeds of Hope to continue growing and take advantage of the opportunities ahead of us, we would love to ask you to consider partnering with Seeds of Hope through a financial gift.

Our goal is to raise an additional $264,600 in this effort.

“This wouldn’t have happened without your continuous support and prayers. We would love for you to continue to support us in this important phase—to be able to stay strong in the Jericho community as the body of Christ.”

God has opened doors for Seeds of Hope that we never thought were possible. Throughout the most difficult circumstances, He has always made a way for us to continue growing our impact and investing in the next generation in Jericho.

We know this season will be no different, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds!
