Construction Continues in Jericho

By April 19, 2024Education

Construction projects have continued in Jericho as Seeds of Hope School looks forward to welcoming our first-ever seventh grade classes this fall! Over the last few months, construction crews cleared the land and prepared it for new modular classrooms and an expansion of our recreation area.

As you may know, we’ve worked over the last several years to purchase the land plots across the street from our original school building. Initially, none of the owners were interested in selling to us. As Muslims, they were hesitant to sell to some of the few Christians in Jericho.

However, Seeds of Hope’s reputation and goodwill in the community have paved the way for us to build relationships with our neighbors over time. We recently came to an agreement to purchase a fourth piece of land. Each step of the way, God has opened a door for Seeds of Hope to continue growing.

Buying land is a drawn-out process in Jericho that can take many months. With the ticking clock of each new grade that we hope to add to our school, there’s been considerable pressure and stress to secure the space we need. The end of that season is on the horizon.

We no longer have to wait years for owners to change their minds—now we can expand as quickly as we have the funds to build!

Eventually, we would like to secure two more plots of land to move our preschool and daycare to the same location. But that can happen at any time while our school continues to expand on the land that we now own.

We can’t wait to see this dream come to life!

Our goal remains the same: to give as many children as possible access to the loving, uplifting educational environments that Seeds of Hope offers. We’ve seen how our Core Values curriculum and caring teachers and staff can transform children and families. We want as many people in our community to experience it as possible!

For now, we’re focused on completing the funding for our most recent expansion. This project will give us room for several more grades and expand our recreational area for our growing study body.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of a few surprise donors and church partners, we’ve raised over $150,000 of the cost already! Our friends at Athlete’s Table have also reached out to help us create a state-of-the-art basketball court, and we couldn’t be more excited for our children to enjoy it.

We shared the complete project budget a few months ago, but here’s an update on our funding:

We’d love to ask you to prayerfully consider making a one-time donation to help us close this gap! We believe that our community needs the hope and light we offer more than ever right now. Thank you so much for making it possible to grow our impact and create lasting, generational change in the Middle East and beyond!
