The Best is Yet to Come

As summer continues in Jericho, we’re hard at work on our school expansion project!

Take a look at recent construction for our new school property:

Thank you!

This diagram shows how we will fully utilize this property over the next two years to expand our school through the sixth grade.

Thanks to your generosity, the latest phase of our school expansion is fully funded. Construction has continued over the summer to create space for classroom trailers, a covered playground area, and a pedestrian bridge to connect our two school properties on either side of the street.

This fall, our new fifth grade class will be the first to meet in the new space! By the fall of 2023, the area will be home to both the fifth and sixth grade. It also includes a science lab, a computer lab, and full spaces for teachers and support staff.

This project was a huge step forward in our long-term school development plan. Since 2018, we’ve added a new grade each school year to continue making room for more students at Seeds of Hope.

Our staff and parents are overwhelmed with excitement about the future of our school, and none more than Jessica Baboun, who is both our Educational Program Headmaster and a parent to three Seeds of Hope students.

“I’ll be forever grateful for the opportunity to have a safe environment, great education, and second home for my little ones,” said Jessica. “Opening this new facility means I get to keep my oldest son and his classmates in this amazing place for another two years. It’s definitely a dream come true!”

A New Opportunity

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our partners and friends, our school expansion is funded through the sixth grade, but we don’t want to stop there.

The ultimate dream for our school is a complete educational facility with classrooms for daycare through high school—not to mention a Cultural Center with room for adult learning, after-school activities, and sports. Our hope is that one day a student could spend their entire childhood in Seeds of Hope’s loving and supportive educational environment.

As we look toward the next few years, we believe we have a unique opportunity to make strides toward our goal of a K–12 school facility. We’ve identified additional land parcels adjacent to our school that would allow us to grow and secure our dreams for Seeds of Hope for years to come.

This map shows our current property (outlined in yellow) along with the adjacent parcels that could be home to our permanent educational facility one day (outlined in red).

We’re not the only parties interested in purchasing this land. With other buyers in the picture, our goal is to raise an additional $540,000 to put us in the best negotiating position with our neighbors.

We are confident in the long-term future of Seeds of Hope. Since our dream began, we’ve faced countless obstacles, setbacks, red tape, and uncooperative neighbors. Each time, a new door was opened—some in the most unexpected ways.

“I have loved watching God provide for us and guide us from the very beginning,” said Seeds of Hope CEO Khader Ghanim. “I know that the best is yet to come in Jericho.”

“I remember my first day at Seeds of Hope back in 2008,” Khader remembers. “I was hired as the project manager to start the preschool and kindergarten construction project. Now I can’t even describe the joy I feel working on the expansion for the elementary school!”

We’re so grateful for your support, partnership, and prayers that have paved the way for Seeds of Hope to grow in our impact and influence in Jericho. We believe the best is yet to come, and we can’t wait to see what doors are opened next.
